Federal Weekly explains the laws and regulations that affect businesses, in plain English. We launched with a California edition because California businesses face one of the most active regulatory environments in the country: new state laws arriving every January, city-by-city wage rules, and an outsized share of the nation's accessibility litigation. Many of the rules that matter most, from the ADA to federal tax filings, are federal. We cover both.
How we report
Every article cites its primary sources: the bill text, the agency regulation, or the court decision. We tell you what a rule says, who it applies to, and when it takes effect. We do not tell you what to think about it.
Neutrality
We do not take positions on legislation, litigation, parties, or politics. We are not affiliated with any law firm, trade association, or advocacy organization. When a law is contested, we describe the dispute and link to both sides' filings.
Not legal advice
Federal Weekly is journalism, not counsel. How any rule applies depends on the specific facts of your business. Before acting on anything you read here, confirm the details against the cited sources or consult a licensed attorney.
