What images are eligible?
We use prospective development images only when we can trace them to an official project website or press release, the architect, designer, renderer, or developer that publicly released them, a government project page, or a publication-ready public planning record. Each project record stores the creator credit, original source URL, and the basis on which the image entered our editorial workflow.
Do you ask for permission every time?
No. We do not operate a manual permission queue for images that the project team or public agency has affirmatively released for public project communication, or that appear as publication-ready figures in a public planning record. We use them editorially to report on the depicted project, at an appropriate resolution, with the source and creator visible. If a source states a restriction that conflicts with this use, we do not publish the image.
What we do not do
- We do not scrape another news publication's image library or remove its watermark.
- We do not treat “publicly visible online” as enough when the original source or creator cannot be identified.
- We do not imply that a rendering is a photograph of completed work.
- We do not claim ownership of a project team's rendering or offer it for reuse.
Credit correction or removal
If you created, commissioned, own, or represent an image and believe a credit is wrong or the image should not appear here, email alex@buildifyhq.com. Include the project page, the image, your relationship to it, and the correction or removal requested. We will acknowledge the request, preserve the record internally, and remove or correct the public image promptly while we verify it.
This channel is not a substitute for rights
A removal channel does not create permission or erase an explicit restriction. It is a practical safeguard alongside source tracing, attribution, limited editorial use, and a rule against republishing images when the first-party basis is unclear.
